The Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Jyväskylä is currently seeking to recruit an Assistant or Associate Professor (Tenure track) in sports pedagogy, especially in the field of adapted physical activity. The position will start on September 2nd, 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter and will be filled for a fixed term of 3-5 years following the tenure track model at the University of Jyväskylä.
In this position, the focus is on promoting physical activity for people with diverse physical abilities and fostering well-being and functional capacity through physical activity. The assistant/associate professorship will promote equality and equity in sport. The position relates to two of the University of Jyväskylä’s research priorities: learning, teaching, and interaction, and physical activity, health, and well-being.
The Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Jyväskylä is responsible for university-level education as well as doctoral education in the field of Sport and Health Sciences in Finland. The development of responsible expertise and high-level competence, as well as meeting culturally and socially diverse competence needs, are essential in the education and research of adapted physical activity.
