Special Olympics Europe Eurasia is hiring full time Manager for Young Athletes and Athlete Leadership position.
Position Summary:
This role will oversee the implementation and expansion of Young Athletes, Family and Athlete Leadership in the Europe Eurasia region. Responsibilities include conducting regional training workshops, on-site program trainings, technical assistance to SO Programs, and grant procurement and management while overseeing various regional and national projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Implementation and planning for program training of Young Athletes, Athlete Leadership and Family engagement in SOEE.
- Contribute ideas, plans and implementation in projects generated within SOEE team; can include grant implementation and management from donors such as UNICEF and Lions
- Liaison with Special Olympics International Departments on plans and projects and contribute when required.
- Manage Young Athletes including grant management, onsite programmatic and regional trainings (online and in-person), regional and World Games festivals or demonstrations
- Manage Athlete Leadership Council including managing elections, council roles and regular meetings
- Oversee Athlete Leadership/Unified Leadership development in region including implementation, trainings and grant management
- Support regional Health in the development of Health Messengers
- Oversee regional Family Program, including identifying and working with national program coordinators; manage Family Registration for World Games
- Assist with planning and organizing of family-related events (Family Forums, Family Health Forums – FHF, World Games family receptions). Includes working with regional Health to support FHF grants in the region
- Review regional Young Athletes, Athlete Leadership and Families metrics in annual census
- Assist Leadership Conference manager
- Assist in regional Leadership Academy
Required Qualifications:
- University-level degree in social sciences
- Experience working in the disability sector
- Experience in early childhood development
- Ability to work in a dynamic and results oriented team environment where flexibility is essential.
- Excellent communication skills to work with Program representatives and external stakeholders
- Effective time management skills to ensure delivery of multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent analytical skills, ability to plan, organize and implement concurrent tasks.
- Ability to work alone and in team settings.
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills – able to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- High level of PC Skills required (MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project)
- Willingness to travel
